He's Just Not That Into You – DVD Movie ReviewComedy from Sex and the City Writers Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo
Based on the novel of the same name, He's Just Not That Into You is a humorous look at modern relationships.
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Kevin Connolly, Ginnifer Goodwin and Justin Long star in this comedy about an integrated group of 20 and 30 somethings trying to understand the opposite sex and the rules of dating. He’s Just Not That Into You Overview Written by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, the writers behind the Sex and the City series, He’s Just Not That Into You follows the stories of a series of people that are interconnected as they date, divorce, marry and have affairs. While Gigi (Goodwin) believes every man that says he will call her, actually will, Ben (Cooper) is falling for Anna (Johansson), while his wife Janine (Connelly) decorates her and Ben’s home. Anna struggles with her feelings for Ben and gives Conor (Connolly) the gentle brush off, even though he is in love with her. Beth (Aniston) wants Neil (Affleck) to propose, even though he doesn’t believe in marriage. Mary (Barrymore) trawls social networking sites for dates while Alex (Long) tries to educate Gigi in the language of man. He’s Just Not That Into You attempts to decipher the signs and language of dating and humorously points out the differences between what men and women want, say and mean. He’s Just Not That Into You Review He’s Just Not That Into You is a lighthearted and funny look at modern relationships. Gigi is adorably naïve when it comes to men and like most women, analyses everything a man says and does on a date and wonders why he didn’t call. While the men in the movie often say what they think a women wants to hear, such as “I’ll call you”, having no intention of calling. With an all star cast and written by the Sex and the City series writers, this movie is funny and enjoyable but lacks any real laugh out loud moments. Goodwin (TV's Big Love) does well to portray the likeable and clueless Gigi, and Long (Drag Me to Hell) does well as the ladies-man bar owner Alex who attempts to help Gigi understand the language of the dating man. Overall He’s Just Not That Into You is a great feel good comedy, with funny and touching moments that both sexes can relate too and enjoy. Recommended as a good date-movie.
